Qing Dynasty 19th Century Jewelry Cabinet with Star-Carved Shelf
Located in Yonkers, NY
A Chinese Qing Dynasty period jewelry cabinet from the 19th century with star-carved open shelf, double doors, large brass medallion lock and carved apron. Created in China during the Qing Dynasty period in the 19th century, this jewelry cabinet features a narrow rectangular top with recessed panel, overhanging a lovely façade. An open shelf surrounded by a carved décor showcasing two birds surrounding a central star, makes up the upper portion of the cabinet. The cabinet is raised on four straight legs connected to one another through a carved apron in the front. We review all of our pieces and address issues we may find before they leave for your home; however, this is an antique piece, and as such it will keep its character and some imperfections, which is the quintessence of antique and vintage furniture. Boasting a reddish brown patina, this Chinese Qing Dynasty period 19th century jewelry...

Provincial Chinese Collector's Shelf, c. 1900
Located in Chicago, IL
This provincial collector's shelf features three open compartments enclosed by a decorative frame carved with abstract floral motifs. Dated to the late 19th century, the shelf once stood in an office or home studio, displaying a curated collection of precious objects such as porcelains, bronzes, jades, and scholars' rocks. At the base is a shallow drawer with a floral knob, perhaps used for stowing incense accessories and other smalls. Darkened by a warm finish, the shelf boasts a beautifully worn texture that only time can achieve. We love the rich history this small collector...
