Fonderia Artistica Ruocco
Located outside Naples, Fonderia Artistica Ruocco is a family-owned smithy that crafts fine metal and bronze furniture and sculpture, using time-honored methods passed down from generation to generation. Inspired by ancient Greek and Roman mythology, the foundry produces pieces in Renaissance, Baroque and other classical styles, cast in handmade molds.
Every piece of art begins as a thought, a song in the heart of the artist and a story longing to be told, with works spanning many modes of expression. Some pieces are covered in a rustic green patina while others are highly polished. Elsewhere, Fonderia Artistica Ruocco decorative objects and other items blend matte and shiny finishes.
In 2021, Fonderia Artistica Ruocco was a featured exhibitor during Milan Design Week in a stunning display at the Senato Hotel Milan. Alongside works created by UpGroup and Micheluzzi Glass — a glassmaker founded by Elena and Margherita Micheluzzi, the daughters of Venetian glass artist Massimo Micheluzzi — the foundry created a stylized representation of Venus’s head, titled Testa Di Venere Frammento, which rested on the still waters of the hotel’s courtyard pool, representing the Naviglio Grande canal that once flowed in front of the building.
Fonderia Artistica Ruocco was also a featured exhibitor at Salone del Mobile Milano, where the company showcased a variety of classical and contemporary works.
