A stunning and in very very fine condition 1940s Eisenberg Art Deco brooch. The design is a curled spray with a top mounted large 10 x 12 mm oval rhinestone. Suspended from the top piece is a pear shape dangle with a center 8 x 12 mm pear rhinestone. It is 1.62 inches wide, 3 inches long and .5 of an inch deep. The brooch is sterling silver and inscribed Eisenberg and sterling on the back with the number 4. The signature dates this brooch to the years of 1944 to 1948. It is in very fine condition. The original company, Eisenberg & Sons, Inc., was formed in 1914 as a perfume and clothing company for ladies. In the late 1930s, the company began to manufacture jewelry for the sole purpose of complementing their clothing line in an attempt to boost sales. The design and high quality of the jewelry was an instant success. The company, Eisenberg Jewelry, Inc. was officially established in 1940 and continues today.
