Charles Bell Still-life Prints
British, 1774-1842
Charles Bell was a Photorealist painter from Tulsa, Oklahoma, who was known for creating vibrant still lifes of everyday items such as pinball machines, marbles, gumball machines and vintage toys 10 times their actual size. Bell started having solo shows in New York in 1972. He also participated in group exhibitions at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Brooklyn Museum, the National Air and Space Museum and the Miyagi Museum of Art, among others.
While many other artists in the 1970s were experimenting with Minimalism and Conceptual Art, Bell was a member of a small group of artists who painted a reflection of iconography and capitalism in America. By using consumer objects, Bell shared similar interests with the Pop artists of the 1960s, but, like other Photorealists, he placed them in a sphere of criticism rather than praise. In his 1986 painting "The Judgement of Paris," Bell recreated the Greek myth using Barbie and Ken dolls and a G.I. Joe figure, as well as other toys. This work is close in size to Peter Paul Rubens’ "The Judgement of Paris," which is almost 13 feet long.
Bell died in New York in 1995.to

The High Cost Of Free Speech Shepard Fairey Print Signed & Numbered Politics
By Shepard Fairey

Punk rock ignited a lot of creative and philosophical things for me, and punk principles continuously remind me that speaking truth to power and questioning authority is paramount in life. The Dead Kennedys, The Clash, Black Flag, and the Circle Jerks are just a few of the groups that referenced injustices such as police brutality and abuse of power in their songs, inspiring me to speak out about the same subjects through my art. I have made a lot of lasting friendships through punk rock and its cultural offshoots. One of those friends is Sean Bonner, who began ordering my prints in the '90s while he was art director for punk label Victory Records. Sean designed the package for the Bad Brains...

Born in 1982, Jing Zhiyong's creative work was predominantly inspired by the 1990s. A collective of artists working in the United Kingdom, who came to be known as the YBAs, or Young British Artists, defined the artistic culture of the 1990s. Affiliated loosely by their age and nationality, they were a varied collective of practitioners. A number of the YBAs attended the Royal College of Art and Goldsmiths in London, and were favoured by the ‘super collector’ of the time, Charles Saatchi. The most renowned member of the group is Damien Hirst, and other members included Chris Ofili, Tracey Emin, Marc Quinn, Gavin Turk, Sarah Lucas...

Anna Harley is a professional fine art screen-printer, making prints at Spike Print Studio in Bristol. She has a Masters Degree in Multi-Disciplinary Printmaking and lives in South Bristol. Her handmade prints are produced in limited editions, so each print is an original artwork, not a reproduction of an artwork made in a different medium. She says, "the screenprinting process suits my practice, because it allows me to build images in fine layers of ink, printing layer upon layer until I am happy with the final print. I use a combination of drawing, digital photography and objects directly exposed on the screen, to create these individual layers. I enjoy the tension this creates in my images – is the print based on a drawing or photograph? Is it attached fabric, pencil marks or ink? While engaged in the creative process, I try to stay open minded about how the finished print will look, to allow the print to make itself – print is an extremely process led way of making art and allowing the unexpected to happen and taking advantage of these happy accidents allows the work to stay fresh and exciting." She is inspired by how it feels to be outside, tree silhouettes, passing seasons, the weather, and the sky and how it changes from sunrise to evening. "I love things that sparkle and twinkle. I often use metallic pigments and, in a move that fully embraced my inner kitsch, I have recently made a snow print using white glitter. " Anna’s work is rooted within the Landscape tradition, while the fabric textures in her prints are an echo of her Scandinavian Arts and Crafts...
