Meridiana Chair in Transparent by Christophe Pillet for Driade
By Driade, Christophe Pillet
Located in Brooklyn, NY
The Meridiana table stems from the ultimate globetrotter chair, revised this year with solid wooden legs. An archetype of the coffee shop or domestic table, it displays a precious balance between the round, wood particleboard top and the solid wood frame and legs. A mass-colored clay mixture is smoothed over the top by hand with a scraper. The table’s aesthetic is distinguished by the shaded, handmade finish of its top. Available in the following colors: Volcano red, Lava black and Champagne.
Born in 1959, he graduated from the Academy of Decorative Arts in Nice in 1985 and a year later took a post-graduate course at the Domus Academy in Milan. From 1986 to 1988 he worked with Martine Bedin in Milan, and from 1988 to 1993 with Philippe Starck in Paris. His first items of furniture, issued by XO, date from 1991. Since May 1993 he has been working as an independent designer. His work ranges from furniture to product design, from interior design to architecture and exhibit design. He works, among others, with Artelano, Cappellini, Ceccotti, JC Decaux, Driade, Mazzega, Moroso, Trussardi, Daum, Moët e Chandon, Ecart International, Lacoste Lancome, l’Oreal, Shiseido, Whirlpool. Nominated Creator of the Year in 1995, he has exhibited his works at the Georges Pompidou Center in Paris, at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Lucerne and at many other prestige venues. Among his most recent works or works in progress...

Costes Armchair Grey Oak by Driade
By Driade
Located in Beverly Hills, CA
There are objects universally recognized as icons. Costes easy chair that, in 1984, marked the beginning of the partnership between Philippe Starck and Driade such as the consecration of the designer, formerly unknown in Italy, is one of these objects. Designed for the homonymous, now disappeared, Parisian café, owes its timeless success to the absoluteness of forms: a dark wooden embracing structure with three highly tilted legs.
The Costes armchair...

Helena Rattan Chair by Borek Sipek for Driade
By B. Sipek, Driade
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Unique wicker chair woven from black plastic and natural material.
The Helena chairs have a back made of black plastic wickerwork that ends at the top in a kind of ram's Horn. This combined with the rattan The use of animal and organic forms makes Sipek's work idiosyncratic. The use of old materials and techniques reflects a leaning towards history and Craft - every attention to detail has been taken here.
A lower chair, ideal for a side chair. Would look lovely in an airy bath room or perhaps on the veranda surrounded by plants.
A beautiful addition to any room.
