Set of ten American art deco mahogany dining chairs with streamline curved arms designed in 1938/1939 by Archibald Taylor A.I.D. for the Nob Hill residence of Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. Scanlon, San Francisco.
The eleven room modernist apartment, designed by Taylor, was featured in Architectural Digest Volume XII Issue 4, 1950 (see images).

These chairs were deaccessioned from the American furniture collection of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston in 2013, having been gifted to the museum in 1985 by noted collector John P. Axelrod who himself had acquired them in 1978 from San Francisco dealer...
