Angelika Buettner

German
Angelika is more than a photographer; she is a storyteller capturing the essence of individuals through the lens of her camera. Renowned for her love of artistic challenges, independent spirit, and the ability to coax out the soulful, daring, and authentic expressions from her subjects, Angelika's work is an exploration of diverse styles, moods, and subjects. Her portfolio reflects a deep passion for strong, sensual feminine photography, a style that has evolved over time, earning her a reputation for "pushing the envelope." Known for infusing cinematography into still images, Angelika meticulously plays with light and shadows, captivating viewers and leaving them eager for more. Her work goes beyond conventional beauty standards, breaking societal stereotypes about mature women and celebrating ageless beauty. Through her lens, she captures nude portraits, revealing the complete person – their expression, personality, and individual mood. While Angelika has gained international recognition in advertising and publishing, her true passion lies in her seven-year project, I AM. This transformative work challenges society's view of women over 40, presenting them in their most vulnerable yet liberated states. In a culture obsessed with youth, I AM strips away devalued images, replacing them with a celebration of agelessness. Born and raised in Bad Homburg, Germany, Angelika's journey led her to study photography in Frankfurt before spending over three decades in Paris and New York. Now residing in the Southwest of France with her husband, a fellow photographer turned art and antique dealer, Angelika finds wholeness in the birth of I AM, confident that her project will redefine societal standards of beauty.

Great Escapes: Italy Angelika Taschen and Christiane Reiter Hardcover Book
By TASCHEN, Angelika Taschen
Located in North Hollywood, CA
Great Escapes: Italy Angelika Taschen and Christiane Reiter Hardcover Book. To travel through Italy is as close as one gets to being in paradise. For centuries, writers, artists, architects, and merchants have been drawn here, inspired by the beauty of Venice, Florence, Naples, and Rome. Countless books, paintings, poems, and sculptures are evidence of its undying appeal, and over the past 60 years, the country has become one of the world’s top travel and holiday destinations. The loveliness of Italy—its architecture, landscapes, culture and food (some of the world’s finest!)—if not eternal, is certainly enduring, and the easygoing and relaxed Italian lifestyle, il dolce far niente, is still unrivaled. Here, some of Italy’s most amazing landscapes are brought to life, like Lake Como (residence of George Clooney), Venice, Florence and Tuscany, the Amalfi Coast, and no less magical, the Aeolian Islands off the coast of Sicily. In these mythical surroundings are legendary hotels full of atmosphere, where novels are set, movies are made, weddings are celebrated, and famous love stories consummated: Villa d’Este on Lake Como, the Hotel Splendido...

National Geographic The Photo Ark The Quest to Document the World's Animals
Located in North Hollywood, CA
National Geographic The Photo Ark: One Man's Quest to Document the World's Animals. Animal Ark: Celebrating our Wild World in Poetry and Pictures (National Geographic Kids) Hardcover – February 14, 2017 Synopsis: The lush and unique photography in this book represents National Geographic's Photo Ark, a major initiative and lifelong project by photographer Joel Sartore to make portraits of the world's animals—especially those that are endangered. His powerful message, conveyed with humor, compassion, and art: to know these animals is to save them. Animal Ark: Celebrating our Wild World in Poetry and Pictures (National Geographic Kids) Hardcover – February 14, 2017 by Kwame Alexander (Author), Mary Rand Hess (Author), Deanna Nikaido Sartore is circling the globe, visiting zoos and wildlife rescue centers to create studio portraits of 12,000 species, with an emphasis on those facing extinction. With a goal of photographing every animal in captivity in the world, he has photographed more than 6,000 already and now, thanks to a multi-year partnership with National Geographic, he may reach his goal. This book showcases his animal portraits: from tiny to mammoth, from the Florida grasshopper sparrow to the greater one-horned rhinoceros. Paired with the eloquent prose of veteran wildlife writer Douglas Chadwick, and an inspiring foreword from Harrison Ford, this book presents a thought-provoking argument for saving all the species of our planet. About the Author: JOEL SARTORE is a photographer, speaker, author, teacher, and a 25-year contributor to National Geographic magazine as well as Audubon, Geo, Time, Life, Newsweek, and Sports Illustrated. He has written several books including National Geographic's Rare: Portraits of America's Endangered Species, Photographing Your Family, and Let's Be Reasonable, a collection of essays from the CBS Sunday Morning show. Sartore and his work have been the subjects of several national broadcasts, including the National Geographic Channel's Explorer, the NBC Nightly News, NPR's Weekend Edition, and an hour-long PBS documentary, At Close Range. He is also a contributor on the CBS Sunday Morning Show with Charles Osgood...
