About the Item
Staffa is a luxury, museum quality piece handmade out of 837 hand cut pieces of rigid insulating board glued on a plywood base, covered with epoxy resin and gilded with caplain gold leafs, a composite of palladium and 24k gold. This modern abstract work is named after and inspired by an island in Scotland where the coastline is build up out of hexagonal basalt columns,
JOHN BREED has been creating works of art for over twenty years. Breed traveled to Japan, New York, Rome, and Russia, where he learned various cultural art techniques. He is full of inspiration, craftsmanship, and indigenous techniques, of which his artwork now reflects. Breed lives and works in the Netherlands.
