The strength of the USSR 1959 Soviet Poster on the conquest of space Cold War

1959

About the Item

Very beautiful Soviet poster on the conquest of space during the Cold War. The space race is one of the manifestations of the Cold War in which the two superpowers engaged from the end of the Second World War and which was first translated by an arms race, with the development of the first atomic bombs, bombers with very long range, then missiles carrying nuclear weapons. The space race began when the Soviets succeeded in launching the first artificial satellite, Sputnik 1, on October 4, 1957, thus challenging the technological supremacy of the United States. The worldwide repercussion of this space first led to a very rapid reaction from the United States, which invested massively to catch up in the field of astronautics.
