1991 After Robert Motherwell 'Mostly Mozart Festival'

1991

About the Item

This first edition screenprint, designed and created by renowned artist Robert Motherwell, was commissioned for the Mostly Mozart Festival presented at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City in 1991. Although it was originally intended to serve both as a print and a poster, only a few signed screenprint were produced due to illness. This limited edition piece was printed on high-quality Arches paper, with a total edition size of 800. Motherwell’s design for the festival captures the essence of his abstract expressionist style, characterized by bold shapes and dynamic compositions. The screenprint reflects the harmony and vitality of the Mostly Mozart Festival, combining Motherwell’s artistic vision with the spirit of classical music celebrated at the event. This unique screenprint stands as a testament to Motherwell’s contribution to contemporary art and his ability to create works that resonate with both art and music enthusiasts.
