About the Item
Patty deGrandpre’s “Astronomy” is #2 of 2 limited edition black and white 11 x14 inch prints on 12.5 x 15 inch paper. Layers of delicate white circles and undulating lines contrast the three distinct panels of black ink in this distinctive print. The contours in this dynamic print seem to move around the gathering of circles in the center of the page. This piece was created by “etching” into thick card stock and adhering the stock onto a glass plate. Black ink was applied to the plate and the image printed without a press onto bright white smooth 70lb. acid free copy paper, and is signed and dated bottom right. This print will ship flat in a protective sleeve ready for the frame of your choice. This impactful print would be a welcomed addition to any contemporary collection.
Patty deGrandpre embraces the art of the print. She enjoys applying both traditional and contemporary techniques in her work, including using digital imagery. She prints on smooth surfaces including photo paper, drafting film, vellum, and copy paper. The ink sits on top of the media creating greater contrast.

Patty deGrandpre
Patty deGrandpre is a New Mexico based artist. She received her BFA in Visual Design at Southeastern Massachusetts University in 1987. Her studio is in her home in Lamy, New Mexico. She has participated in many shows, both juried and invitational, at local, regional and national levels. In addition to three solo exhibitions, she has received accolades and awards over the years in both Fine Art and Printmaking.
