About the Item
While living and working in Soho, NYC, Japanese artist Kawakami produced these masterful etchings. These were obtained by a fellow artist of the Abstract New York School of Painting, living in the same Soho building. This one edition book is now available for purchase. This book is one of a kind, with only one copy made. Each piece is an original work by the artist and they are consecutively numbered in the artist's hand along with a quote from the New Testament Evangelists. This book consists of six pages in total, including the title image. Within the Shunga tradition, these prints are exquisitely rendered.
Kawakami is an artist who was born in Japan. He came to study, live, and work in the USA, spending a significant amount of time in New York City and later the Berksires.
