About the Item

A resident of East Hampton, New York, Beth Rundquist paints portraits, still lifes, figures and plein air landscapes. Its refreshing to see an academically trained painter, who borrows liberally from the impressionist tradition to imbue hear realist paintings with an uncommon lushness. Her art education began with a degree in studio art from Smith College, and includes study at two of New Yorks finest art schools, The National Academy of Design and The Sculpture Center. Rundquist has also studied at prestigious regional art schools in New England, such as Lyme Academy of Fine Arts, Vermont Studio Center, and Woodstock School of Art. In the tradition of American artists since the turn of the 19th century, Beth also studied in Paris at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts.

A lithograph from the Marina Picasso Estate Collection after the Pablo Picasso painting "Tete". The original painting was completed in 1954. In the 1970's after Picasso's death, Marina Picasso, his granddaughter, authorized the creation of this lithograph by Laurent Marcel Salinas, who worked closely with Picasso during his lifetime. The limited edition print run was completed and published by Marina Picasso in conjunction with Jackie Fine Arts in 1982. The lithograph is printed on French Arches paper, ink-stamped by the Estate verso, and hand-signed and numbered edition of 500 by Marina Picasso on the recto. The embossed seal of the Estate is lower right and the printer's chop, lower left. The work is presented in an excellent brown wood frame with silk linen matting using all acid-free conservation materials.
