Sailing at Brancaster Staithe on the North Norfolk coast. The linocut is printed in soft whelk Blue. From a series of 3 nautical designs.

Kate Heiss is a contemporary Printmaker & Designer creating
limited edition screen prints and linocuts on paper.
Kate studied at the Royal college of Art, graduating with an MA in
Textile Design in 1997. She then worked for a wide range of
fashion brands before setting up her own printmaking
studio in 2011.
Kate creates dynamic, vibrant, illustrative prints inspired by
her love of birds, flowers and nature of the landscapes of East Anglia.
Her work is handmade in her studio in Hertfordshire and regularly
exhibited across the UK.
Kate’s artworks and surface pattern designs have also been
used by many familiar Stationery and Homeware brands.
Her clients include, Museums & Galleries, The ART File,
Art Angels, Woodmansterne, Camden Graphics, Athena,
Rewrapped and John Lewis.
Recently Kate has completed several private commissions
and has had her work featured in a variety of books.

Kate Heiss
Kate Heiss is a contemporary printmaker and designer creating limited edition screen prints and linocuts on paper. Working on snow scenes is always a challenge as there is no room for error keeping white paper unmarked. This is difficult because a lino block is almost empty, with few marks except the essential ones. In this linocut I have included a typical winter light, but the main event is the shadows changing shade and colour across the snow.
