This poster is part of a series called "No a los Transgénicos” - a visual arts campaign launched by the great Mexican master Francisco Toledo to fight the production of genetically modified corn in Mexico.
In 2010 Toledo began sponsoring the fight against the farming of genetically modified corn as well as the importing of genetically modified grain. This poster is part of a limited edition series produced by the artist between 2014 and 2015. Each poster is hand-signed and numbered by the artist on the front side.

Francisco Toledo
Francisco Toledo was a Mexican Zapotec painter, sculptor and graphic artist. Throughout his career, he was dedicated to promoting and defending the arts and culture of his birthplace, Oaxaca, Mexico. From a very young age, Toledo's artistic talent and abilities were recognized. He studied art in Oaxaca, during his youth and as a young man, moved to Paris, to continue his studies. While residing in France, he traveled throughout Europe, where he saw and was influenced by the work of many artists, including Paul Klee and Jean Dubuffet. However, unlike these European artists, Francisco Toledo's work never became completely abstract.
