About the Item
Experience the intense and striking art of Cleon Peterson with his "Black Endless Sleep" print. This hand-pulled screen print, created in 2016, features Peterson's signature black and gold color scheme. Printed on high-quality 290gsm Coventry Rag paper with deckled edges, this piece measures 28" x 28" (71.12 cm x 71.12 cm). Each print is signed and numbered by the artist, limited to an edition of 150.
Peterson's work is known for its bold, stylized depictions of conflict and chaos, often drawing on influences from Greek pottery, graphic design, and political propaganda. "Black Endless Sleep" continues this tradition, showcasing dynamic, intertwining figures that evoke both ancient and contemporary themes.
The piece originates from Peterson's monumental mural project for the 2016 Nuit Blanche art festival in Paris, where he created a 500 square meter artwork beneath the Eiffel Tower. This print captures the essence of that large-scale installation, making it a powerful addition to any collection.
The print is in excellent condition, having been stored flat with archival materials. It comes with a certificate of authenticity to ensure its provenance.

Cleon Peterson
Cleon Peterson’s bold, stylized paintings and prints depict a world of brute, authoritarian violence and caustic debauchery. The artist draws on fine-art influences such as Leon Golub and Paul McCarthy, as well as the aesthetics of Greek pottery, graphic design, and political propaganda posters. His striking compositions feature characters packed into dense, kinetic scenes of high-contrast conflict. Peterson works with a spare color palette, often limiting himself to black, white, red, and yellow. He received his MFA from the Cranbrook Academy of Art before going on to exhibit in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, London, Paris, San Francisco, and beyond. His work has fetched five-figure prices on the secondary market. By explicitly depicting acts of violence, Peterson hopes to highlight the overreach of authoritarian power in contemporary society.
