Lovers is an original colored lithograph realized by the artist Roger Chapelain-Midy in the 1970s.
Hand-signed by the artist on lower right. Numbered on lower left. Edition 16/100.
The artwork is a charming composition representing two nude lying woman embracing. The setting seems almost a lunar scenery.
Original print in excellent conditions except for some light folds along the margins and abrasion of paper on the right margin.
Roger Chapelain-Midy (Paris 1904-1992) is a French painter, lithographer, illustrator and set designer. Passionate about the Renaissance, the paintings of Poussin and the seventeenth century, he advocates a classical tradition, in the era of great contemporary languages. He mainly paints still lifes and landscapes. He received the Carnegie Award in 1938. He made wall decorations for the fourth arrondissement of Paris, for the Chaillot National Theater, for the Institut Agronomique of Paris, as well as decorations for cruise ships. As a decorator and costume designer since 1944, he worked for Rameau's Les Indes Galantes in 1952 and for Mozart's Magic Flute at the Paris Opera in 1954. The success of his work allowed him to work for the Cologne Opera House. He will receive the main prize of the theater at the San Paolo International Biennale in 1962.

Stefania Guidi (Rome, 1929) belongs to the Marche family of the Marquises Guidi Giovanissima. She married the musician and composer Michele Paradiso on 1 July 1978 in Campidoglio. From 1956 to 2014, the work of Stefania Guidi was expressed in various techniques and materials with great craftsmanship.
