Agent X, cultural explorer and agent of the unknown, is an emerging artist who creates experimental, multimedia collages, paintings, and 2D artwork. Described as ‘Pop Art with thought,’ Agent X juxtaposes pop culture, technology, fashion, and music in visually complex images expressing the anxieties of the global, post-modern world and the dark side of consumerist, media-obsessed culture. His work occupies a unique intersection between the aesthetics and philosophy of Futurism, the social critique of the Dada movement, and contemporary artistic movements ranging from Pop Art to Super-flat. The cultural issues of racism, sexism, power, money, and the urban environment are common themes found in his work. The chaotic style in his pieces reflect his passionate feelings of these relevant issues.
Based in Vancouver, Agent X grew up in Connecticut and studied in New Haven and Atlanta. He was the top recipient at the Curious Duke Curious Pie Show, and he has been a finalist in numerous prestigious art contests. Agent X’s work has been exhibited in art meccas all around the world, including London, New York,Singapore, San Francisco, Spain,Amsterdam and Toronto.

Signed, dated, and editioned by the artist in the front lower left corner. Currently hung in a solid black frame.

Artist Biography: Richard E. Fluhr was born in New York City in 1955 and moved to Texas to work as an artist. Beginning with ceramics at age 15 and showing at Ola Podrida Gallery in Dallas, he moved on to the University of Texas at Austin. Fluhr received his BFA from the University of Houston followed by an MFA in printmaking at the prestigious Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, where he graduated magna cum laude. He traveled extensively, painting life along the way in watercolor, oil or acrylic, usually on recycled materials, such as paper bags, pamphlets, and receipts. Fluhr exhibited in six galleries in the United States and several galleries in Mexico, where he also maintained a studio in the late 1980s. His art has been shown in the U.S., Russia, and Mexico and is represented in over 900 private and public collections, including the Brooklyn Museum of Art, NY; the Cranbrook Academy of Art Museum, Bloomfield Hills, MI; the Detroit Art...
