About the Item
This stunning Proof is hand-painted by the artist , signed at front and on the back label too; each proof is 80% hand painted and gold gilded by Shizico Yi, because the nature of hand mixed oil, colours are to be slightly vary on each proof;
each proof is as unique as semi-original, highly collectable.
This Proof collection is to offer an alternative to an original, this series is very collectable at an attractive price under a special Proof Project published celebrating Shizico's latest exhibition- Nostalgia, London, UK 2024.
About the painting:
Shizico Yi takes on an innovative project "The Weaver," inspired by the heritage of the beloved family Tartan and its rich lineage of the Clan.
"The Weaver" invites viewers into a world where the memory and the Now interweave in a mesmerizing display of visual creativity.
In this painting, the early spring Magnolias take centre stage; their blossoms seemingly taking flight in the air, resembling winter birds bidding farewell to the cold, poised to rise anew like a phoenix. She weaves the motif of the patterns of beloved Tartan into the painting creating a dance of abstraction and realism.
Through her art, Shizico incorporates layers of vibrant paints, seamlessly blending memories of the past ( the tartans) with the vivid reality of the present (the floras). The canvases become a harmonious visual symphony where the past and present converge like a dreamscape.
The way she weaves the materials on canvases further amplifies Shizico's artistic musical dialogue between materials, brushstrokes and its emotive story telling.
The painting also pays homage to cherished memories. This is one of the major piece of Shizico Yi's exhibition- Memory Landscape in June 2024. It is in the permanent exhibition catalogue.

Shizico Yi's work aims to explore artistic obsession through repetitive documentation of the domestic and the everyday.
