Abstract Turtle is an original artwork realized by Henry Goetz in the 1970s.
Colore etching on paper.
The print is hand-signed in pencil on the lower right. Numbered on the lower left. Edition 26/50.
Good conditions except for very light foxings on paper.
This colored print represents a dark-colored composition: on a black colored background, a striped turtle is lying down with her breastplate facing up. The setting is almost surreal with unidentified geometric shapes lying in space.
Henri Bernard Goetz (1909 –1989) was a New York-born French Surrealist painter and engraver known for his artworks. He was a member of the revolutionary Surrealist group. Most of the graphics work of the artist consists of engravings, executed according to all the possible fields opened by this domain: dry tips, chisels, etchings, aquatints, soft vermis, engraving on lead, linocuts, etc. It will be its mark from the end of the 60s and will open new perspectives to the painters-engravers who make it theirs.
