About the Item
Invited onto the set of the first James Bond film Dr.No, Herrmann captured the historic moment when author of the Bond books Ian Fleming dropped in on the filming to chat with actor Sean Connery at Pinewood Studios, Buckinghamshire in March 1962. Ian Fleming had worked as a foreign correspondent for The Sunday Times and tipped off the paper about his on set visit to Pinewood and subsequently made sure that they got the exclusive on this historic meeting.
This print forms part of Frank Herrmann's 2021 "Icons of the 1960's" publication of the best of his work from the decade that keeps on giving.
Herrmann, working for The Sunday Times was given rare access to the Abbey Road recording studios to photograph the Fab Four as they worked on the album Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. He stayed an hour and watched them record, have lunch followed by George pouring tea for the Beatles and their producer George Martin.
paper size 17 x 25, Image size 14 x 20 inches.
Limited Edition of only 25 in this size
This print is embossed with the photographers stamp, numbered and signed by the photographer Frank Herrmann in pencil on lower right margin.
