About the Item
An original photography, in large scale edition of 9.
Signed and numbered 2 out of 9.
Sold framed and accompanied by the COA of the artist.
This fascinating artwork depicts a skeletal figure elegantly seated in a modern armchair.
The skeleton is dressed in a sophisticated suit, creating a striking contrast between mortality and refinement. With a helmet on its head, it enjoys a moment of relaxation, holding a glass of wine and a smartphone.
The choice of monochrome tones enhances the ethereal and almost ghostly quality of the figure. The lines are clear and defined, presented in a style reminiscent of radiographic imagery. The chair, with its minimalist structure, reinforces the contemporary aesthetic.
This piece invites the viewer to reflect on modernity and the fleeting nature of life, while playing with the notions of life and death through the symbol of the skeleton experiencing an everyday moment.

Nick Veasey
We live in a world obsessed with image, what we look like, what our clothes, houses, and cars look like, etc. Nick Veasey counters this obsession with superficiality by using x-rays to strip back layers and show what is under the surface. Often, integral beauty adds intrigue to the familiar and challenges our automatic reaction to the physical appearance by highlighting the beauty inside. Society is being increasingly inhibited by security and surveillance. Take a flight or go into a high-profile courtroom and your belongings will be x-rayed. The post arriving in corporations and government departments is often x-rayed. Security cameras track our every move. By using the same gadgetry that removes a sense of freedom from our lives, Veasey speculates upon what the manufactured and natural world really consists of, thereby reminding us that beauty is more than skin deep. Nick Veasey's work is exhibited in a number of major international galleries in Europe, North America, and Asia. He is the recipient of many photographic and design awards, granted by the IPA Lucie Awards, AOP, Graphis, Communication Arts, Applied Arts, PX3, and the D&AD. In 2008, Veasey was nominated for the IPA Lucie International Photographer of the Year.

Luke Smalley was an American artist known for his photographic work, which pairs a coolly minimalist aesthetic with a retro nostalgia. Images from his early in his career were inspired by fitness manuals and yearbooks c. 1910. This is not surprising since Smalley graduated with a degree in sports medicine from Pepperdine University and worked for a number of years as a model and personal trainer. Smalley shot the bulk of his photographs in his home state of Pennsylvania, using real high school athletes as models.
“Exercise at Home” is Luke Smalley’s second major body of work. Shot in and around the tiny Pennsylvania town the artist called home, Smalley revisits themes of adolescent growing pains acted out under the guise of earnest athleticism. Teenagers engage in simple yet strange competitions meant to establish their standings amongst one another. Two youths practice boating safety...
