About the Item
Street photographer Mitchell Funk captures a magic moment. The image features a graceful lunging black poodle in pursuit of something outside the image area. The poodle is centered in the middle of a composition, and the viewer's eye is immediately drawn to it. He is engulfed in early morning hues of gold and orange that give depth and luminosity while framed by long cast shadows. The poodle takes on a dual nature. It's a poodle but also an expression of joy and jubilation - Funk's picture-making style is defined by light, color, and design and has been characteristic of his work for over 50 years.
Signed and dated on lower right, numbered on verso Edition 3 of 15. Unframed. Other size available, Printed later - Printed on Hahnemühle Fine Art paper
Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of " Color Photography" In 1970 he participated in one the first " Color Photography" shows at a major museum. Brooklyn Museum, show "Images en Couleur" . 1971 Included he was included in the visionary book "Frontiers of Photography" Time Life. Color ! American Photography Transformed. Amon Carter Museum. He has had more than 50 Photography Magazine Covers and has had covers on Newsweek and Life Magazine among others.

Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of color photography. In 1970, he participated in one of the first color photography shows at the Brooklyn Museum titled “Images en Couleur." In 1971, he was included in the visionary books Frontiers of Photography and Color (Life Library of Photography), both published by Time-Life. He has done more than 50 photography magazine covers, including covers for Newsweek and Life.
