International award winner photographer Gerald Berghammer, born 1975 in Austria. Traveling around the world and capturing the impressions on analog black and white film was always a passion of the internationally successful master photographer Gerald Berghammer. The idea was to go back to analog photography to create images that decelerate, contrary to our fast-paced digital world. During Gerald Berghammer’s master course, analog photography was the subject of his final thesis in 2011. The quality of the images was convincing and laid the foundations for SILVERFINEART. In the years that followed, the matter was intensively studied to create photographic art at the highest level. Besides the craft of photography itself, all negatives were developed by hand in the darkroom. Afterwards the negatives were selected and only those shots which met the high-quality standards of the photographer were included in the portfolio. Due to COVID and its influence on supply chains and logistic and the resulting lack of analog films and developers, Berghammer adapted to the new circumstances and invested in modern medium format digital technology. Convince yourself of the quality and passion behind SILVERFINEART and browse through the portfolio or visit the gallery in the seventh district of Vienna. The photo artist will be happy to help you find the perfect piece for your home or office. Log Rafts - Port of Tacoma, WA (Archival Digital Aerial Landscape Photograph)
By John Griebsch
Located in Hudson, NY
Minimalist aerial landscape photograph of golden brown logs in a midnight blue body of water Log Rafts - Port of Tacoma, Washington, USA Archival digital print, Edition of 25 (#080) Image size 21.7 x 29 inches with 2 inch border, made to order Also available in the following sizes: Image size 31 x 39 inches with 2 inch border $3200 Image size 38.5 x 48 inches with 2 inch border $4500 The aerial photographs of pilot and photographer John Griebsch capture natural and man-made landforms from a bird's-eye view and turn them into art. Employing his mature and professional sense of composition, gained from a photography career that began at the age of 12, Griebsch here photographs golden brown logs floating on a dark blue, almost black, body of water. When seen from above, the cross hatching warm brown colored logs resemble an abstract shape that can be likened to an abstract minimalist painting. Artist statement: My aerial photographs present a sense of selective design applied to an extremely small and specific area of the vast landscape over which I fly. I find the need to make geographical sense of the earth, as well as the need to make visual sense of a photograph. I work with ambiguity of scale, the graphic quality of nature and with the hand of man upon the landscape. My images have an abstract and often painterly quality. They are at once factual and interpretive. Familiar landscapes take on a fresh context when airborne. The images require the confluence of several factors. There is the subject – a minuscule segment of the landscape that has captured my interest due to its sense of pattern, order or disarray. There is the essential contribution of light. There is the position and altitude of the airplane, and there is a need to capture the stillness and composition of the moment while moving over the subject at more than seventy miles per hour. My earliest aerial photographs were of ice and farmland, made close to home. The scope of the work opened up on solo flights across the continent in my vintage 1952 Cessna 170B. Those flights are made to find images of landscapes on a grander scale as well as unfamiliar opportunities to find images that take in a small detail. In my most recent work I’ve discovered what might be regarded as historical or documentary themes – some of the images of factories and quarries present relics of the country’s industrial past, while my newer images of the landscape and agriculture denote changes in the scale of farming and open space. The existing body of work, titled Aerias is comprised of more than two hundred images. Collections of my images have been placed in corporate and business settings and in private collections. I started photographing when I was twelve years old. My father taught me to fly when I was fourteen years old. Before taking off on my first solo flight, he admonished me not to go out of sight of the airport. I was soon out of his view and yet from where I was, the airport was always in sight. Such are the perceptions of a photographer who is airborne. More about the artist: Resume John Griebsch is an aerial photographer and pilot whose aerial landscapes depict natural and man-made landforms. His images of the American landscape have been made from his vintage Cessna 170, in which he has logged more than 100,000 miles. At present there are 300 images in his series of work, titled, AERIAS. La Madrague
By Antoine Rose
Located in New York, NY
By hanging out of a helicopter hovering 300 feet in the air, Antoine Rose uniquely captures the Hamptons from a sharp 90 degree angle. This piece is a snapshot of shared beach activities that features colorful accessories and gorgeous blue-green water as it crashes on the shore. Antoine Rose’s love for the sea led him to become official photographer of the Kitesurfing World Cup in 2002 for several consecutive years. Rose admits, “Shooting from helicopters, all doors removed, 300 feet above earth at 20 knots and getting images that can be printed as large as 120 inches is quite a challenge. What’s difficult is to mix all the tasks in real time: guiding the pilot, having the right lens, being sure the camera settings are setup properly, concentrating on the light, the subject, the framing, discussing with the tower control to get clearance…” Rose continued to travel around the globe from South Africa to Istanbul, converting ordinary scenes into magnificent pieces of art – whether they be the shorelines of Miami and Hampton Beach “Up in the Air” or the mountaintops of Switzerland “Jeux D’Hiver”. In Rose’s most recent collection “Dawn to Dusk,” illuminated cityscapes of the Manhattan skyline are captured beneath darkness. Thus, oblige viewers to a closer look, distinguishing the artist’s pictorial subject from its aerial veneer; brilliant skyscrapers manifest embellished microchips against an unlit backdrop. keywords: beach, human, bird-eye view, sky, new york city, interior design, decoration, city view, snow, ski, up in the air, helicopter, blue, white, brown, yellow, colorful, vacation.
