An uncanny juxtaposition of sleek design. The bold geometric forms of the Chrysler Building Spire are set against the equally sleek lines of a contemporary passenger jet. The building pushes vertically while the jet thrusts horizontally. Both spire and jet are cloaked in shiny metal which Mitchell Funk' exploits with his signature style of potent lighting. This photograph masterfully demonstrates Funk's uniquely deep knowledge of color, shape, and design in contemporary color photography. The uploaded video on 1stDibs is coming up a bit light. He has had more than 50 Photography Magazine Covers and has had covers on Newsweek, Fortune, New York Magazine and Life Magazine among others.

Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of color photography. In 1970, he participated in one of the first color photography shows at the Brooklyn Museum titled “Images en Couleur." In 1971, he was included in the visionary books Frontiers of Photography and Color (Life Library of Photography), both published by Time-Life. He has done more than 50 photography magazine covers, including covers for Newsweek and Life.
