About the Item
In this work I represent some bird feathers in a cup, with a seashell. This cup is already represented in other works of mine, since I have a special interest in it.
special interest in it, I don't know if it's because I simply like it or because I've been I have been seeing it since I was a child. It is a work made in very desaturated tones where the color takes prominence in the seashell. A glass placed in front of it and in the middle of the cup serves to distort and soften the shape of the elements, creating a kind of mist inside a small rectangle. This for me contributes to the richness of textures of the work. The elements are arranged on the shelf of a shelf and to create a kind of more romantic environment I use to degrade the shape of the shelf giving the feeling of being more of a sketch than a finished work, but nevertheless it is another way to finish a work. is another way to finish a work. The whole painting is made with only 4 tones of oil. And it is painted in oil on board prepared by me.

Born in Madrid, Spain, he pursued Interior Design studies but his aptitude for painting led him to focus on this art form. In 1986, he joined the Circulo de Bellas Artes in Madrid, where he spent several years drawing and painting figures from life. In 1989, he became a copyist of Art Works at the National Prado Museum in Madrid, a role he continued for several more years. He took painting courses with Daniel Quintero and Eduardo Úrculo, and engraving courses at the National Mint of Madrid with José Hernández, Daniel Gil, Paco Mora, and Luis Cabrera. He has held solo and group exhibitions in various national and international galleries. He has been selected for numerous national competitions and has won several awards, including the 2nd Prize at the Caballeros de Yuste, finalist in the VIII Laura Otero, Honorary Medal at Sotillo de la Adrada, 5th Prize at the XVIII Antequera in Málaga, Honorary Medal at the XXII López-Villaseñor, XLII Antonio López Painting and Drawing Competition in Tomelloso, Ciudad Real, and First Prize in Small Format Painting at AGORA96 in Cádiz. He was a finalist in the Ynglada-Guillot Foundation Drawing Competition in Barcelona. His most recent selections include Daimiel and Virgen de las Viñas 2022, Laura Otero (finalist), and Valdepeñas 2023. In 2018, he was selected to exhibit at the Art Revolution Taipei International Art Fair and at the X-Power Gallery in Taipei.

In the trompe l'oeil panel painting, "Wonder, or the Plane of the Invisible," a comic cut-out of Wonder Woman sits between two spatial planes—the top, very flat plane is cut out in the shape of a plane as a play Wonder Woman's famous "Invisible Plane." The silly way the comic book character would sit in an imaginary seat flying through the air would force the artist to wonder, “how do you represent an invisible plane”. Here, we see a bright blue canvas, sprinkled with glittery paillettes; an outline of an airplane beneath an outline of the word “SKY”, an infantile depiction of the sun made of masking tape, and finally, the hero, Wonder Woman, her comic clipping taped onto the invisible plane. A very believable, naturalist blue sky with puffy white clouds is visible through the letters and the invisible airplane. It feels like we can reach into the invisible plane to find the natural world…yet atop the plane is an old cartoon of the first female superhero. She overlaps the realistic atmosphere, and even casts a shadow onto it. The planet’s orbit is dedicated to the sun, and all living things need the light to survive…yet this most important element is made up of a crude array of tape strips, asymmetrical, and even torn in-half.
