"Repose Kissing the Ground" by Ale Casanova, Original Oil Painting, Portrait

2023

About the Item

Ale Casanova's "Repose Kissing the Ground" is an original, handmade oil painting that depicts a portrait of a model kissing the ground. Alejandro Casanova was born in Valencia, Spain, in 1981, and quickly demonstrated an exceptional flair for the arts. Studying Fine Arts at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, his remarkable academic prowess led him to further his education in Tenerife, obtaining the Diploma of Advanced Studies (DEA). Supported by various national and European research grants, Alessandra started his artistic career with a solo exhibition at 24 in Valencia. His artwork often portrays simple scenes, rich with rawness and naturalness. Through figures and portraits, Alejandro seeks to evoke intimate feelings, engaging the viewer to question, reconstruct, and even extend the scenes he presents. He desires to strike the observer with the human figure, often depicted in its most personal moments, creating a connection without lewdness. Utilizing mediums like oil and watercolor, Alejandro plays with color, ranging from muted browns to saturated hues. His unique approach to color and brushwork adds an almost symmetric brightness and a sense of continuity in his paintings. Since his first exhibition in 2005, Alejandro has received numerous prizes and awards, continually participating in both solo and group projects, cementing his reputation in the art world.

Among My Souvenirs : artwork in the genre of narrative realism
Located in New York, NY
Painting by a contemporary artist Audrey Ushenko. Audrey Ushenko works in the genre of narrative realism. Her works are rich, complex figurative and still life paintings. They are stories of recurring human issues often prompted by a twisted reality. Ushenko’s earlier works where primarily mythological and allegorical. Her later works are focused on depicting human situations and interactions of people who are both living and dead. These paintings represent social situations, timeless stories and enduring issues that are rendered with a contemporary twist. Always a significant element in Ms. Ushenko’s work is her integration of Venetian Renaissance methods of paint application with Impressionist color and light theory. The combination of the old masters’ technique of glazing the canvas and carefully layered surfaces of paint enhance the luminosity of Ushenko’s work. Audrey Ushenko has exhibited her work extensively throughout the United States including several shows at Denise Bibro Fine Art, NYC; the Fort Wayne Museum of Art, IN; The National Academy of Design, NYC; University Museum, Southeast Missouri State University, Cape Girardeau...
