About the Item
Semi abstracted landscape painting. It is painted on metallic warn gold with lots of drips and etched portions. Fits perfectly in a contemporary home. Lovely soft blue greyed color scheme. Many layers with under layers revealed make for dynamic textures and depth. This is an original signed piece of art. There is always so much more detail and subtle color than a photograph can capture, so if you like it here you will love it in person. The sides are painted and this work is ready to hang in the frame less style, but a frame could be added if desired. Top quality paint, canvas and archival finishes used throughout. NOTE: Mailing overseas from Canada can be expensive due to the dimensions. One option is to take the canvas off the stretchers and mail just the canvas in a tube for restretching on your end. Kenneth B Walsh (1922-1980)
In the 1950s, Kenneth Bonar Walsh came to Montauk from New York City to paint seascapes, catch fish, sing of Nature's beauty, put down roots, and, later, develop a style of painting all his own.
The Boston native moved to New York after attending the School of Practical Art on the G.I. Bill, where he began his career in the art department of Lever Brothers. But he had bigger dreams, and soon established the Bonart Studio, a commercial art business. RCA Records, the Ideal and Transogram toy companies, and the Schrafft’s candy and chocolate company were among the studio’s clients.
