About the Item

Green Pastures, Impressionist Landscape, Original Oil Painting, Signed By Welsh artist Wilfred Colclough, 20th Century Signed and dated '76 by the artist on the lower left hand corner Oil painting on board, unframed Board size: 16 x 20 inches Fabulous scenic view of open rural land with a mountain in the far view. The sky is powdery blue with the promise of a beautiful day soaking in the clean air and breathtaking view. You can see why this particular artist had a penchant for painting impressive mountains in open countryside. We have several similar landscapes in stock by this incredible artist. Colclough lived in Stockport and was Art Master at Stockport School from 1938 to 1978 (with a break for war time military service). There is little other biographical information however he was a skilled artist who specialised in mountain landscapes. His views of Snowdonia, the Highlands, the Lake District and the Peak District all have a wonderful mystical quality with ancient rocky peaks, swirling mists, and drifting clouds. Condition report: The painting and board are both in a very pleasing condition.

Lilacs
By Viktor Butko
Located in Sag Harbor, NY
A traditional still life of lilacs in the foreground is met with an impressionistic view of the landscape and sky out the window. set inside a neutral toned room; a round wooden table holds up a glass pitcher abundant with lilac blossoms. A beautiful summer vista of a cloud speckled sky, a winding sea, and lush treetops allow the indoor viewer to experience the glory of the day. The subject matter, flowers, clouds and water, is reminiscent of Monet. Framed dimensions: 43 x 47 inches Artist Bio: Viktor Butko was born in 1978 in Moscow, into a family of artists. He often visited the studio of his grandfather, the famous artist Victor Chulovich, and watched the creation of paintings. As you may imagine, this has inspired him to start painting. Viktor’s first steps in art were directed by his grandfather and his parents, artists Nickolay Butko and Marina Chulovich, he then studied at the Moscow Art School, which is known for a high level of training. After completing his training at the art school, Butko painted at the Academic Dacha of Artists, created by the great Russian artist Ilya Repin for students of the Academy of Fine Arts. There he worked under the guidance of famous artists Alexey Gritsay and Tkachev brothers, which had a big impact on his creativity. Viktor’s first solo show was held in the United States, in 2002 at the McCarthey Gallery, one of the foremost dealers in the United States for Russian Impressionist art. This marked the beginning of a long cooperation with the gallery. Later, in 2016, He took part in an international plein air event, which was organized by American painter Ben Fenske and art dealer Laura Grenning. As a result of this Russian-American Painting Alliance a large exhibition was held in the Grenning Gallery...
