Luis Fuentes
Mediterranean Breeze - original surreal realism seascape floral oil painting

2024

About the Item

This exceptional artwork is currently on display and available for sale at Signet Contemporary Art Gallery and online. Luis Fuentes brings the tranquil elegance of the Mediterranean to life in this stunning still life. Painted in oil, the piece features a vibrant bouquet of red lilies and soft orange blooms arranged in a blue and white floral vase, resting on a sunlit windowsill. Beyond the open shutters, a serene seascape stretches to the horizon, inviting the viewer into a moment of stillness and contemplation. Adding a layer of intellectual intrigue, a book on René Magritte rests beside the vase, its cover reflecting the surrealist master's fascination with light and illusion. This detail bridges the natural beauty of the scene with the conceptual depth of art history, subtly suggesting a dialogue between reality and imagination. Fuentes expertly contrasts the vivid warmth of the flowers with the cool blues of the sea and sky, using the play of light and shadow to create a composition that feels both alive and serene. The intricate patterns of the vase add a touch of craftsmanship, grounding the composition in Mediterranean artistry. "Mediterranean Breeze" is a celebration of beauty, thoughtfulness, and the timeless charm of coastal living. Signed, framed, and ready to be displayed, this artwork is available for sale at Signet Contemporary Art in Chelsea and online, offering a touch of Mediterranean sophistication to any space. By John Duffin
Located in Deddington, GB
John Duffin is a painter and printmaker whose work is based on the modern environments of cities and towns, creating dynamic, cinematic images of contemporary urban life. His unique images of architecture, lighting and figures have been greatly praised and awarded, recently receiving The Most Outstanding Print Award from Sir peter Blake, he has a distinctive artistic voice and has much to say in his work about contemporary life in all of it’s manifestations. His work is in the tradition of LS Lowry in Britain and Edward Hopper in America and like these artists he creates unique views of contemporary urban life, a combination of his ability as a draughtsman, his imagination and his personal use of perspective and colour. He makes drawings and watercolours in front of his chosen subject and takes these sketches back to his London studio where he creates from them his own imaginative interpretation of the site, recreating the place anew via his own imagination. His work is redolent with influences from cinema, graphic novels and the history of figurative painting, but from this comes a vision that is his alone. London Panorama...
