Known for it's timeless charm, the quaint Cotswolds of England are what dreams are made of. Snows Hills exemplifies the warm and inviting feeling of the surrounding landscape resplendent with aging shrubs, mellowed stone, worn pathway as does this Barbizon influenced impressionist original oil painting. by legendary artist John Phillip Osborne. Osborne was the leading instructor of the highly regarded Ridgewood Art Institute of New Jersey for more than thirty four years. Osborne taught generation of his students to go beyond the obvious in portraying their subject matter in a composition striving to capture the genuine overall feeling of the moment. He had graduated with honors from Pratt Institute of NYC and then continued his studies at the Art Students League, also of NYC. Original Osborne oil paintings have been exhibited in United States Embassies in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America as well as in coveted venues across the United States. A recipient of numerous awards, Osborne's highest personal honor was the "Artist in Special Tribute" and the "Gold Medal of Honor" presented to him by the Hudson Valley Art Associationl The landscape is framed in a new custom made antique silver frame with subtle distress lines throughout.
