A very pretty late 19th-century English marine scene of fishing boats beached after being out to sea and bringing in their catch for the day.
This was a subject that was very popular during the 19th century and showed the new middle-class painting buyers a snapshot of a different life than the one they were living.
The painting is painted on an artist's board and has been reframed in a new handmade English gold leaf frame.
The painting is signed on the reverse in pencil.
