Wonderful Gold Country Church landscape by Gladys Louise Bowman Fies (American, 1909-2005). Signed "Fies" lower right. Unframed. Image size, 18"H x 24"L.
Gladys Fies was a watercolorist, art teacher. Gladys attended the Jade Fon workshop at Asilomar in Pacific Grove for thirty years. She studied under many nationally known watercolorists, Millard Sheets, Rex Brandt and eight years with George Post who greatly influenced her work. Missions were a favorite subject matter as well as floral still life.
