A fine "mid century" oil painting by the listed French Impressionist artist, Fernand Audet (1923-2016). Painted with wonderful thick, impasto oil built up layer upon layer creating a superb textured surface, the artist has captured this beautiful scene.
The painting is signed and carries excellent provenance, having come from the artists estate in France.
Audet exhibited throughout his lifetime, including with the Salon des Independants in France.
Condition report:
The painting is in very good and sound condition. There are minor scuffs from previous storage in the artists studio.

Modest Huys (25 October 1874, in Zulte – 30 January 1932, in Zulte) was a Flemish impressionist and luminist painter, who is regarded as one of the greatest Belgian painters of the 20th century.
From a young age, Modest Huys worked in his father's painting and decorating business and later studied at the "Gentse Nijverheidschool" (Ghent Industrial School). In 1891 or 1892, he came into contact with Emile Claus, who encouraged his artistic inclinations. In 1900, he enrolled at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts where his teachers were Eugène Joors and Frans Van Leemputten but he never completed his studies. It was about this time that he became lifelong friends with the author Stijn Streuvels.
In 1902, he debuted at the Sint-Lucasgilde in Kortrijk and began to exhibit more widely. He spent time in Meetjesland, painting landscapes. From 1905, he participated in the exhibitions of Vie et Lumière...

The Artist: Ture Ander (1881-1959)
Ture Ander, Also known as "Blomstermålaren" (The Flower Painter), was born on September 17, 1881, in Asker, Örebro County, and passed away on February 4, 1959, in Arvika, Värmland. Initially trained in the craft of painting, Ander pursued formal art education at the Technical School in Stockholm from 1898 to 1903. He further honed his skills at the Artist’s Association School between 1905 and 1908 and at the Académie Colarossi in Paris during 1911-1912. Here, he was significantly influenced by Paul Cézanne and other Impressionists.
