About the Item
The paintings and sculptures that I am creating at the moment are very colorful and full of words that intertwine to form a central message. I still use codes and hidden messages as I have always done since my beginnings. There is always a very clear message in each work and another that is subliminal. I play with the true and the false to question the viewer and I often use puns to criticize or question the idea that I develop in my work. I like to play with words and invite the viewer to get lost in this labyrinth.

With his work on exhibition in galleries across the world, Grégoire Devin has risen to prominence as a prolific French artist who explores a wide variety of media. His paintings, drawings, and sculptures can be found in art galleries in the U.S., throughout Europe and the Middle East, in contemporary art museums in China, and in private collections internationally. Grégoire draws inspiration from his interactions with street culture as he travels and works in the urban environments of New York, Miami, and throughout Europe. His provoking compositions have grabbed the attention of renowned collectors, major brands, and even Princes : In 2018 at the Dubai Global Art Awards, Grégoire DEVIN won the Best Global Artist Award, presented to him by His Highness Sheikh Saeed Bin Tahnoun Bin Mohammed Al Nahyan. In Monaco, Prince Albert II received his sculpture “United We Stand” for the Prince’s 60th birthday. Luc Belaire, the world’s fastest growing French sparkling wine brand and the best-selling French Rosé in the U.S., directly commissioned him for high-profile collaborations, creating four limited edition Art Series bottles that are distributed worldwide. Belgian actor Jean-Claude Van Damme, American rapper and record executive Rick Ross, and legendary Guns ‘n Roses bassist Duff McKagan are just a few of the iconic names with Grégoire Devin’s art on display in their homes among other renowned collectors. Grégoire DEVIN has also devoted time and work for several charity projects including the Iconic Haus showhouse in Paradise Valley, AZ to benefit The Heart Center at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, and a project for the WWF with EasyJet founder Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou and Monaco’s Prince Albert II. The Causeway, Original Abstract Seascape Painting, Blackwater Estuary in Essex
Located in Deddington, GB
Inspired by 'Osea Island', an idyllic haven basking serenely on the Blackwater Estuary in Essex. It is approximately 380 acres in size and is connected to the north bank of the river by a Roman causeway, covered at high water. The tranquil surroundings led me to create this painting to capture the deep moody blues and greens of the water and the orange ochres of the rugged sand dunes. I've use a painterly application with expressive linear marks in oil pastels to create movement and interest.
