Robert Elibekyan was born in Tbilisi, Georgia. In 1960 he moved to Armenia and settled in Yerevan. 1960-1965 he studied in the Yerevan Arts and Theatre Institute. Since 1970 Elibekyan is a member of the Union of Artists of Armenia. For many years Elibekyan is successfully involved in stage design in theatres of Armenia and overseas. Simultaneously he worked as a designer and producer of a number of films shot at the ArmenFilm Studio.

Robert Elibekyan
Robert Elibekian was born on 21 April 1941 in Tbilisi, Georgia. In 1960 he moved to Armenia and settled in Yerevan. The same year R. Elibekian entered the Yerevan Art and Theatre Institute. In 1965 after graduating from the institute, he started his fruitful creative career by actively participating in various national exhibitions. Robert Elibekian is a member of the Armenian Artists Union since 1970. For many years he has been successfully involved in stage design in theaters in Armenia and abroad. Simultaneously he has worked as a designer and producer of a number of films shot at the Armenian Film Studio. The artist’s creative life was reflected in numerous personal exhibitions throughout the world; his canvases are exhibited in famous museums such as the Tretyakov Gallery and the Museum of Oriental Art in Moscow, the Alex Manoogian Museum Detroit, Elyseum Palace in Paris, the White House in Washington and the Zimerli Museum in New-Jersey. In 1981 Robert Elibekian received the State Merit Prize of Armenia and in 2001 he was granted the Movses Khorentatzi Medal in the field of national culture. In 2006 Robert Elibekian was granted the Presidential Award of the Republic of Armenia for his lifelong achievements in the realm of Armenian Culture.
