About the Item

“Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not part from it” Also “spare the rod and spoil the child” All these golden words talk about training up a child in a way to shape the world, in my opinion, a corrupt child is a spoiled and unsafe world. This woman in this composition was seen showing and teaching her boy child how to make the world safe to live from his end, the male figure’s head was represented with a world map because the world starts with each child. This composition was inspired by the current situation in my community where a young lad raped, murdered, and buried a young girl in his family house, many questions were raised about how he could pull that crime showing that the pattern of his crime was said to be “serial”. Some go ahead investigating the level of teaching the boy received from the Unit of his family to be able to carry out such heinous in his home. Many questions Were raised about how growing up is for the boy and the impact of his family in shaping his life. So I concluded that a boy child needs all attention and teaching on how to treat the female genders and make them safe in a male-dominated and patriarchal world. The message of this work is to emphasize the impact of giving a boy child special attention in guiding and guarding what and how they behave in society and regardless of age, our sons, brothers, uncles, husbands, and fathers need to be taught properly for the world to be a safe space. Artist Statement The ideas, issues and events arising from man's quest to contain and contend with these forces form the subject of my paintings. Given this background, my paintings are subtle but much defined with interlocking and wedges of colour combined like a mosaic to produce a solid, architectural structure, enhanced by the textured surface of the paint with women accorded with prominent attention, focus and more emphasis in my composition. Women live in a male-dominated society, based on local cultural traditions with few rights and are at the receiving end of men's activities and yet strive to eke out and sustain living. I celebrate them by weaving my composition around them during their hours of need, joy, pain, and other human activities.

"Lover's Diary (Late Night Text)," offers a glimpse into the narrative that unfolds within the frame. The image of a young lady lying down, absorbed by the glow of her phone screen, immediately resonates with anyone familiar with the phenomenon of late-night messages exchanged between lovers. In this digital age, when connections are forged as easily through screens as in person, the artwork speaks to a generation accustomed to intertwining emotions and technology.
