J. Oscar Molina is a painter and sculptor as well as Founder of Oscar Molina Gallery in Southampton, NY. He is most well-known for his “Children of the World” series which is comprised of large and small-scale sculptures as well as abstract paintings. The works in this series are inspired by and emanate from the artist’s vivid memories of his treacherous journey through the desert as a 16-year old escaping the violence of then war-torn El Salvador in the hopes of finding safe haven in the United States. For J. Oscar Molina, art is everywhere. Let us look closer with greater attention -observe yourself a little more- you’ll see it.
