About the Item
At all time they are together, a man and a woman. Duality of differences, two views, different accents, but in one wholeness. Fomin is a fairy-tale artist, a romance teller, who is choosing never ending life stories for a viewer. He is telling these stories with realistic language of the artist, citing the language of Bruegel sentimental sincerity of Chagall, but also a precise coloristic scheme, that was a signature of French Art in the second half of XX century.
The fantastic World of the artist is perfectly detailed that makes it truthful. This artistic language principle defined the style of the artist long before he entered the Art World market. His love for Italian Renaissance was born in Minsk during his study years. Art, Music and Architecture made Igor Fomin’s art language strong.
Igor Fomin was born in 1963 in Mogilev, now Belarus.
In 1981-1986 he studied architecture at the Belorussian National Technical University, where he got his passion for art and painting.
In 1986-1988 he worked as a graphic designer in Russia.
In 1994 he was accepted to the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors (Asociación Española de Pintores y Escultores). During these years he won a Second place prize in the Naive Art Competition.
In 1996 he won First place prize in the Autumn Salon organized by the Spanish Association of Painters and Sculptors.
Since 1989 Igor Fomin and his family are living and working in Spain.
He is a participant of the major Art Fairs and Festivals all over the World (i.e. Art New York 2018), his works can be found in private collections in Russia, Germany, the USA, UK and many others.

Igor Fomin
Fomin is a storytelling artist. He is a storyteller in his everyday, anecdotally narrating the funny side of life, and he is a storyteller in his professional life, bringing to the canvas realistic popular scenes set in fairy-tale settings where the subject matter is always treated with irony and humor. The titles of his paintings tell us about eccentric characters of an era, a culture, a society (which one?) - it doesn't matter, it is a distorted reality with a romantic and sentimental touch, which takes us to references such as Brueghel the Elder, El Bosco and Chagall, within an aesthetic and chromatism typical of Renaissance painting where Fomin develops his original scenes playing with the design of spaces, landscapes, buildings, characters and costumes. A stage director who makes us smile, but also reflect on his original interpretation of the human being, because this is the main protagonist of his paintings. Igor Fomin (Minsk, Bielorrusia, 1963) studied architecture at the University of Minsk, but even at this time he was showing his liking for the word of painting. His first jobs in the world of painting at this time were as a commissioned graphic designer. En 1988 he started painting pictures, a small forerunner of the style for which he is now recognized. During this period, his love of music also led him to study the classical guitar, a theme which he developed extensively in his painting. Music and architecture are two permanent elements in his paintings. In 1992 he settled in Spain with his newly created family and, unable to work as architects due to their lack of knowledge of the language, he and his wife, the painter Elena Narkevich, began to work with art galleries, and their work soon began to be recognized.
He is a participant in important Art Fairs (i.e. Art New York 2018), and his works can be found in private collections in Russia, Germany, the USA, UK and many others.

"Inspired by the monks and sages the artist saw as a child growing up in Shanghai, China, Peter Max's 'New Moon' is representative of his sensual and energetic Neo-Expressionistic brushwork style, and of his bold, Neo-Fauvist color palette which began to emerge in the 1970s. In the painting, a zen monk, holding his umbrella, contemplates the meaning of a new moon rising - new beginnings and goals, a time when new intentions are made. He seems to float somewhere between the horizon and the clouds and heavens, close to the new moon, and painted in the most daring and vibrant of the artist's color palettes." ©ALP, Inc.
Known throughout the world and a household name in America, Max is known for his new age style cosmic imagery and multi-colored blends. During the late 60's and early 70's his colorful art reached millions of people and he won numerous major awards for his work. His paintings, drawings and limited edition graphics have been exhibited in major museums throughout the world. He works in multiple media, including oil, acrylics, water colors, fingerpaints, dyes, pastels, charcoal, pen, multi-colored pencils, etchings, engravings, animation cels, lithographs, serigraphs, ceramics, sculpture, collage, video, xerox, fax, and computer graphics. He also includes mass media as a "canvas" for his creative expression.
Peter Max was born in Berlin, Germany, and spent his childhood in Shanghai. From China, the family went to Tibet for a year, and then on to Israel. His family's odyssey continued to Paris, and finally, at the age of 16, Max arrived in the United States. He began his art studies in New York at the Art Student's League and continued at the Pratt Institute and School of Visual Arts.
Max often uses American symbols in his artwork and has done paintings and projects for presidents Ford...
