Robert Watson
Robert Watson was the son of the Victorian landscape painter William Watson (1809-1871), and the brother of fellow artists Charles Watson (1857-1923) and William Watson Jnr (1847-1921). The favourite subject of all three sons was Scottish highland views, especially those featuring native longhorn cattle. Between 1890 and 1920, Robert Watson exhibited in Glasgow and Liverpool, and today his Scottish landscapes can be found in the collections of numerous UK museums and galleries.

Aqua Bailer Shell - Single Bailer Sea Shell on Brown Table w/ Watered Backdrop
By Helen Oh
Located in Chicago, IL
The simplicity of "Aqua Bailer Shell" is deceptive. The upturned pale yellow shell has a beautiful light emanating from its center revealing the delicacy of the shell. It sits upon a deep, rich brown table with its reflection seen in the highly polished surface. The background is delicate aqua colored moiré pattern to give an even more opulent feel while adding to the meditative quality of the painting. The bailer shell can be found in Southeast Asia, from Burma, Thailand and Malaysia, to the South China Sea and the Philippines. This large, prehistoric sea snail shell could traditionally be used by native fishermen to bail out their leaking fishing vessels. This artwork is framed in a simple walnut frame measuring 25 x 25 inches.

Peek (After Stubbs)
By Shelley Reed
Located in Bozeman, MT
This is a framed painting. This painting is oil on paper, and is monochromatic black.
Reed's primary focus has been the rich vein of Northern European art from the mid-17th through 18th centuries, a period of enlightenment and profound interest in science, nature, and the animal world. Animals were assigned human traits (peacock:vanity; dog:fidelity), and nature itself was considered a symbol of God's providence - a commonly held belief within the stratified, gentry dominated social order of the time.
Reed (b. 1958, New York, NY) lives and works in Boston, MA. She is a recipient of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts Maud Morgan...
