Hideyuki Sobue is a visual artist from Japan, and a graduate of the Osaka University of Arts. He is based in the Lake District, UK, and specializes in drawing and painting—two artistic mediums that have been essential forms of expression since prehistoric times.
Sobue has developed a distinctive brush hatching technique using Japanese sumi ink and acrylic. Through this technique, he investigates the enduring connection between art and humanity. His method, influenced by the Renaissance concept of Disegno, oriental artistic traditions, and neurological studies, allows him to create a series of narratives that articulate the human experience, reflecting its diverse history, culture, and modern interpretations.
