About the Item

Ted Hinrichs Elijah and the Ravens Acrylic on Canvas Year: 2022 Size: 36x24in Framed: 38x26x1.75in Signed by hand COA provided Ref.: 24802-1726 *Framed in naural Wood Tags: Abstract, Acrylic, Gestural Abstraction, Cubist, Red, Blue, Black, Orange, Purple Ted Hinrichs is a local Kansas City artist with a studio in Blue Springs, Missouri. Ted received his Bachelor’s degree from The University of Kansas in 1974. During his time at KU, he began experimenting with art, especially painting, and loved it. However, after graduating Ted entered the business world and art took a back seat to the energy it took to compete in that environment. These experiences add an undertone of influence in his work. After selling his business he decided to pursue his passion for art. In the fall of 2007, he entered the Kansas City Art Institute full time and majored in painting. The Art Institute environment allowed Ted to immerse himself in the kind of attitude and discipline it would take to become a successful artist. During this time Ted was named to the Dean’s list. After a year and a half, he felt it was time to combine his experiences and start working on his own. "I am an experienced abstract painting artist working out of my personal studio, Reflections of the Soul Studio, Kansas City MO. My work has been shown and sold through Galleries and designers for more than ten years. More recently I have opened internet sales. My work stands apart by the use of top-quality materials and my trademark of making work that is not only alluring, but also meaningfully intelligent, and conversational. I was trained in the classical basics of painting at Kansas University and as a Dean’s List student at The Kansas City Art Institute. However, that training is only a starting point. My work is continuously progressing through experimentation with new ideas and materials. It is constantly pushing the basics, which keeps my art crisp and original."

Girl with Blue Face, 48 X 36 X 1.5 This large scale painting of a woman's face hints at Picasso. Both technically accomplished and classically approached, the thick gestural brushstrokes add a fragmented & tactile character to the canvas. The cool palette makes it easy to live with and makes it perfect for any room. This comes stretched and ready to hang. New Moon Detail
By Peter Max
Located in Missouri, MO
New Moon Detail Peter Max (German, b. 1937) Acrylic on Canvas 15 x 30 inches 26 x 41 inches with frame Signed lower right "Inspired by the monks and sages the artist saw as a child growing up in Shanghai, China, Peter Max's 'New Moon' is representative of his sensual and energetic Neo-Expressionistic brushwork style, and of his bold, Neo-Fauvist color palette which began to emerge in the 1970s. In the painting, a zen monk, holding his umbrella, contemplates the meaning of a new moon rising - new beginnings and goals, a time when new intentions are made. He seems to float somewhere between the horizon and the clouds and heavens, close to the new moon, and painted in the most daring and vibrant of the artist's color palettes." ©ALP, Inc.
