Steven H. Rehfeld
'Congruence' Blue and Pink Mixed Media Contemporary Abstract By Steven Rehfeld

2022

About the Item

Steven H. Rehfeld (American, born 1954) "Congruence" 2022 Mixed Media, Oil paint, Resin, canvas, stretcher bars The painting is signed by the artist on the back of the canvas. 'Congruence' by Steven Rehfeld is a kaleidoscopic exploration of texture, form, and color on a 50" x 36" canvas. The mixed media artwork dances between chaos and coherence, with fragments of paper, scribbled lines, and layered paint interwoven in a dynamic tapestry. A blend of cool blues and stark whites contrasts with earthy browns and subtle hints of red, conveying a sense of depth and movement. The occasional discernible snippets of text and geometric shapes offer moments of clarity amidst the swirling abstract forms, inviting viewers to delve deeper and find their own interpretations. Rehfeld's command over his medium is evident as he juxtaposes thick paint smears with delicate paper elements, creating a piece that is both visually stunning and tactilely intriguing. "Congruence" embodies the spirit of contemporary abstraction, capturing the essence of discovery and the beauty of the unexpected. About the Artist: Steven is now one of the top emerging artists in the U.S. His works are groundbreaking, bold, and imbued with unflinching disregard for painting conventions. Many works are in collections and museums in the U.S. Steven is also part of the 'Outsiders' school of art, originating in France in the 19th century. Also known as the Naïve movement, it was comprised of people with no art training at all, who suddenly started to paint. Many of them are from very challenging backgrounds. All they had was talent that had never before been tapped. In no time this movement became a major art phenomenon and spread all over the world. His work, however, has branched out past the movement and his use of earth elements renders a basic and raw interpretation of his message. The painting comes with a certificate of authenticity and a letter of appraisal. Original, one-of-a-kind.

"Golden Lights in the Night Shine Bright" Abstract Chandelier Painting on Canvas
By Ash Almonte
Located in New York, NY
The Chandelier series for Ash portrays an inner mantra, that light is a fuel in which we all connect, the artist goes on to explain: "We all have a light inside of us and that light is how we connect in some realm; whether it be a mentor, a friend, a stranger, a nurse. It is this innate human connection that brings us together and for me, a chandelier represents the complexity and beauty of this and so the idea of providing this light for one another is what motivates me in this collection." Almonte is constantly developing her aesthetic, further breaking the barriers of how she applies paint onto the canvas by carefully manipulating her dried acrylic pallet. Cutting and reapplying the leftover paint onto new works of art, Almonte creates a refreshing and unique design that gives her work a new dimension and a more 3D-like feel. This piece is painted on thick gallery wrap canvas and is signed lower right and on verso, it comes with hanging wire on verso ready to be displayed. Art measures 60 x 48 inches Inspired by vibrance and an optimistic outlook on life, Ash Almonte is recognized for her distinct abstract expressionistic style. She is best known for her series of Chandeliers, Butterflies, and Fashion from the Seventh Avenue Design District. Almonte's award-winning works can be found in private and permanent collections around the world. She is motivated by change, compassion for others, and miraculous phenomena that can impact others for good. Her flair and admiration for fashion and art have been a staple of her life since childhood. As a young girl, she would experiment using anything she could find to make art; from tearing apart bushel baskets at her father’s fruit stand, to tearing out old magazine clippings from her mother's magazine collection; anything and everything around her could potentially be used to create. She would continue to seek out opportunities throughout her young adult years, as her love for fashion grew, allowing her to collaborate with celebrity stylists creating looks for top billboard artists, as well as apparel worn at New York Fashion Week for designers Sherri Hill...

"Bright as the Blue Sky" Colorful Abstract Butterfly Painting Acrylic on Canvas
By Ash Almonte
Located in New York, NY
The Butterfly series for Ash began as a sentiment to her late Father. Butterflies began to appear in unexplainable ways after his passing, the artist later discovered that Butterflies represent spiritual rebirth, transformation, change, hope, and life - she goes on to say: "The butterfly series draws inspiration from Rivera's quote 'Butterflies can't see their wings. They can't see how truly beautiful they are, but everyone else can.'" After coming to the fruition that Butterflies pose as not only a symbol for beauty and rebirth, Almonte felt a feeling of deep comfort. Her passion for sharing this message of hope and renewal through her colorfully diverse canvases is achieved with resilience leaving her audience glimmering much like the inner voice and the spark of Joie de vivre that fuels her purpose in life to create. This piece is painted on thick gallery wrap canvas and is signed lower right and on verso, it comes with hanging wire on verso ready to be displayed.
