In her 'Prayers,' series, Shizico incorporates Dahlias, which bloom in the late summer, bringing vibrancy to the garden into the winter's chilly months. The innocence of a cat serves as a symbol of the vitality of life, a symbol of innocence and peace. Together, these two elements convey a sense of regeneration and hope for life.

Shizico's Sunlit Series nestles within her "Golden Period," a profound exploration centred around the captivating hue of yellow. It is a colour she believes having the healing power for those afflicted by grief. Dr. Shizico Yi is a London based artist, working on installations, films and paintings; the documentary nature of her work often concerns about the loss, repetition, the everyday subject and memories .
With design and film background, Shizico combines her interests making installation projects which relate to artist's personal life in relation to the society and human condition at large. Shizico Yi holds a PhD in Fine Art awarded by UEL, UK 2017; she had completed a Master in Fine Art with a BA in Womenswear from UAL. London.
She is also the Winner of Women Film Makers: Best Shorts Competition 2013 Los Angels. USA.

Prayers Series is the continuation of The 'Sunlit' series, an exploration of the colour yellow and its impact on individuals dealing with grief. The pictorial language in this series pays homage to Japanese Woodblock prints.

Shizico Yi's work aims to explore artistic obsession through repetitive documentation of the domestic and the everyday.
