Preston M. Smith
Technicolor!, Painting, Oil on Canvas

2016

About the Item

This painting is a variation on some of the series I have been working on in the past months and the fifth in the series. It is unique in that it can be hung from multiple angles, horizontal OR vertical! All of these paintings led me to create these new pieces that are truly a step further into the world of deep, vibrant color, texture and beauty. This piece unique in that it is the first of the series to be painted on canvas and is more complex in its arrangement and movement and leads the eye all over the surface, while retaining its complexity of color palette and variety of texture and line. Each color was chosen organically in a moment of emotional creation and fed off of the last and enhanced the next. This painting shines and shimmers in the light and is stunning in a clean white frame, enhancing any wall that or color schemed room it is hung on. Like "Crossroads", this painting ventures more into the addition of discernible shapes, but takes it a step further as windows and abstract structures begin to appear. This piece is alive with chaotic movement, vibrant color and texture. Get lost in the chaos and harmony of it all, now in technicolor! Note: This painting is painted on canvas and is not framed, but comes hang ready with the sides painted black. Because of the black edges, framing is unnecessary, but up to the preference of the collector. This painting is signed on the front and includes my Certificate of Authenticity. © 2016 PMS Artwork. BORN JULY 31, 1979 IN NEW JERSEY, USA CURRENTLY LIVES AND WORKS IN WEST PALM BEACH, FLORIDA BIO: As an artist based in the vibrant community of West Palm Beach, my work is an exploration of the interplay between color, emotion, and memory. Growing up in Guatemala, I was immersed in a culture rich with vivid hues, captivating vistas, and a tapestry of diverse experiences that continue to influence my work. I decided to pursue an artistic and creative career as a painter because of my deep passion for self-expression and the power of art to evoke emotions and provoke thought. I found solace in drawing and painting, using these mediums as a way to communicate and interpret the world around me. The ability to convey complex ideas and feelings through colors, shapes, and strokes fascinated me. Painting has been an avenue for me to explore our inner thoughts and reflect on life, creating a profound connection between myself and my art.
