"Gestural Study of Presence and Absence I" is a framed mixed media work on canvas by Meredith Pardue, depicting organic, overlapping shapes in vibrant hues of yellow, blue, pink, green, and red. The forms resemble petals or leaves, radiating outward in a dynamic, organic arrangement. Expressive brushstrokes, delicate line work, and translucent layers add depth and movement to the piece. The predominantly white background enhances the bold colors, creating a sense of energy and spontaneity.
This piece is finished in a silver scoop floater frame with a white-washed woodgrain effect on the frame’s interior and sides. Price includes pictured frame. Unframed dimensions are 36 x 36 inches.
About the artist: Born in Monroe, LA, Meredith Pardue is an acclaimed contemporary artist whose work is widely recognized for its abstract botanical forms and scenes derived from nature. Upon receiving a B.F.A. from Savannah College of Art & Design in Georgia, she was accepted and completed her M.F.A. at Parsons School of Design in New York. Following her art studies and education, Pardue travelled extensively across the US, finding and drawing inspiration from the varied regions and coasts of the South, Pacific Northwest, and Northeast.
Today, Pardue’s work continues to gain critical acclaim and is prominently displayed in several private and notable corporate collections. Her work has been exhibited worldwide and has been published in a variety of periodicals.
