Maureen Fenton-Hansen
Maureen Fenton-Hansen was born in Rochester, New York, on May 20, 1946, and raised in Montebello, California. She received her BA in art at San Diego State University and a master of fine arts degree in lithography at University of California, Santa Barbara. Maureen was an abstract artist who, through her 30-year artistic career, used her art to express universal sentiments via multimedia collage. In the latter part of her life, calligraphy assumed increasing importance as a mode of articulation. Maureen taught art at Hartnell College and exhibited locally and nationally.
