Born 1975, and raised in New Canaan, CT. Self taught artist Joseph Conrad-Ferm did not discover his need to paint until the winter of 2001, at age 26. “I don’t have a college art degree and I don’t have an art critics vocabulary. I paint when I’m feeling good and I paint when feeling otherwise. I find the right music to fit my mood and I go to work, though work is probably not the right word for it. It used to pour out of me, as fast as I could move the brush, though I’ve since learned to restrain my efforts. My recent painting process has become quite intense, by design. My intention is to reveal a complex and timeless process that is easy to engage. My movement in the studio is calculated, at this stage of my artistic development and career. I believe the imagery and substance of my artistic voice are born through me, from a place that is closer and more familiar than my breath.” With over 1,000 finished works, on paper, canvas, and wood, his paintings are in public and private collections worldwide, including a recent museum acquisition. Ferm has over 80 solo and group shows to his credit, with a solo show @ the Coral Springs museum of art, in south FL. Ferm’s work is used extensively by interior designers, has been seen in design publications in the U.S. and Europe, and can be found on several television shows. An avid cyclist, Ferm has recently married two passions. Through collaborations with companies in the US and abroad, select paintings have transitioned onto cycling and other athletic apparel. He lives on Cape Cod, with artist Sarah Conrad-Ferm and their two boys. Ferm is currently employed full time as a registered nurse, in a critical care setting, at Cape Cod hospital in Hyannis, Mass.

Joseph Conrad-Ferm
Despite having no formal art training, artist Joseph Conrad-Ferm creates compelling paintings and mixed-media works in the tradition of the Abstract Expressionists. The American painter has captured the attention of critics and collectors alike with his intuitive forms, flowing brushstrokes and use of vivid colors.
Born in 1975 and raised in New Canaan, Connecticut, Conrad-Ferm didn’t explore his artistic side until 2001, when he felt a sudden compulsion to paint. “In late December of that year, in the boiler room of my mother’s basement, with no reference point, I felt compelled to paint,” he has said.
Since that watershed moment, Conrad-Ferm’s artistic process evolved into creating abstract paintings driven by pure emotion and feeling. “I’ve been able to express the joys and pitfalls of my total life experience, through a language that is universal,” he has said of his work.
To date, Conrad-Ferm has created more than 1,000 finished works on canvas, wood and paper. He has had over 80 solo and group shows to his credit, with exhibitions at the Paul Fisher Gallery and the Coral Springs Museum of Art in Florida, and the Tuleste Factory in New York City’s Chelsea neighborhood.
Conrad-Ferm’s works are highly sought after by interior designers and abstract art collectors and have been featured in television shows as well as in publications in the United States and Europe. He has also enjoyed collaborations with cycling and athletic apparel brands in recent years. When he isn’t painting, Conrad-Ferm works full-time as a registered critical care nurse.

Bruce Rubenstein specializes in large-scale artworks, using huge canvases to tell his stories. Born and raised in New York, he moved to Los Angeles in 1985. His mixed media artworks defy categorization, blending abstract forms and organic shapes with subtle hints of figures and symbols. Adrien Brody and Mickey Rourke are among Rubenstein’s collectors.
Bruce Rubenstein’s artistic influences include artists from Joan Miró and Jean Arp to Gerhard Richter and Pablo Picasso. “He is an artist, and that means someone who cannot restrain the flow of ideas,” says author David Rodgers. “He is someone who they just burst out of, who cannot help but communicate, and who sees no reason to stop. He’s a man not limited by media to communicate the stories that he needs to (and must) tell, through any medium he feels necessary.”
His works are represented by Artplex Gallery Los Angeles and have been exhibited and collected worldwide, including exhibitions in Austria and Israel.
