"Survival V" Acrylic & Inks Painting 14" x 24" inch by Ghaidaa Ashraf Ghaida Ashraf’s work began as abstract re-imaginations of Islamic geometric designs, before progressing into an obsession with metallurgy, the components of metallic elements and their relationship in nature. Influenced by her Alexandrian origins, her palette reflects vibrant tones of cheerful maritime blues, and coming from a scientific passion, she digests material in written or pictorial form before deconstructing and then reinventing them in her own artistic vision to find creative solutions for expressing her preoccupation with such concepts. Ghaidaa Ashraf Bio Born on 17/8/1994, artist Ghidaa Ashraf Abdel Hamid lives and works in her hometown of Alexandria. Ghidaa graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in painting in 2017, and during her studies she participated in various exhibitions internally and externally. Amongst her 55 painting exhibitions until now, Ghidaa’s graduation show was hosted by L’Atelier D’Alexandrie. Through the use of repeating geometric patterns enhanced by different color theories. A hallucinatory visual field is created. Thus forcing the viewer's perspective to be pushed into a moment of visual confusion. According to theories in Neuroplasticity, these perspective shifts are catalysts that have the potential to rewire neural pathways and ultimately affect thinking and behavior.
