Sensational abstract oil painting by the French female artist, Beatrice Werlie (born 1974).
This fabulous abstract style painting is a portrait of a lone figure, based on a black and dark blue background.
The painting focuses on one face, creating quite an alluring story - who is this person? Are they emerging from somewhere about to embark on a journey? It is a brilliant notion that abstract paintings are a story that is open to interpretation.
Cubism is an early-20th-century avant-garde art movement that revolutionised European painting and sculpture, and inspired related movements in music, literature and architecture. Cubism has been considered the most influential art movement of the 20th century.
The work has excellent provenance having come from a large collection of the artists work in Normandy, France. The artist exhibits with the Galerie Artitude, Paris.
Condition report:
The painting and canvas are both in a very pleasing condition, the canvas has come away slightly from the frame, but could easily be reattached to the frame, please see images.
